Abdar-Rahman Manouchi (b. 1993, Malmö, Sweden) is an artist and photographer based between Stockholm and Berlin. He holds a BFA in Fine Art Photography from Academy Valand.
His work emerges from a human experience of societal friction, a neurodivergent mind, and a cultural identity that resists categorisation. The perspective is simultaneously free and excluded — a celestial instrument articulating a desire for change in humanity’s paradigm.
Working primarily in large-scale photographic formats, Manouchi explores subjects that range from portraiture and florals to conceptual still lifes. The imagery is often modified and immersed in dense, saturated colour, approaching the visual depth and scale of oil painting. His practice centres on sensory constructions and speculative scenes, depicting moments of rebirth, afterlife, and the physical presence of nature within the exhibition space. Rather than offering a cipher to be solved, the work invites a visceral, visual experience.
